giving back to the community
Here at Mobius, we actively encourage giving back. Our local community is at the core of our principles, and we love doing our part to help. We show our support in many ways, including our strong links to local charities and our encouragement for staff to get involved in charities and local projects.
At the beginning of the pandemic, we volunteered with the Bristol Food Union, a new project formed in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, offering our vans and team members to deliver food parcels to care leavers in the local area. Our Founder Lee Bignell and his family also volunteered delivering hot meals to vulnerable people, and only yesterday, Lee repeated this commitment demonstrating that we really are passionate about getting involved; with the van loaded, he and his daughter Lulu really did make a difference.
Bristol Food Union started in March 2020 as an informal collective of independent restaurants and food producers, many of whom were on furlough, but who wanted to keep the city fed during the Covid crisis. It has since grown into a non-profit social enterprise and expects to deliver 300 Christmas hampers to families in the city, 300 food boxes to recent care leavers for 16-21 year-olds, 150 community hampers, and supports the work carried out by Caring in Bristol to feed the city’s homeless. Thanks to the many volunteers, like Lee and his family, this year has been yet another success in feeding many in crisis around Bristol.
Mobius also have close ties with Empire Fighting Chance—a Bristol-born charity fighting the impact of deprivation on the lives of young people. We are wholly passionate about this project, and to demonstrate this, we have again pledged to raise £10k for the charity - and are well on our way to reaching this target.
We are proud to give back to our community, and we will continue to uphold our strong local values into 2022 and beyond.
