The Nine Most Beautiful Offices in the World

Now that UK pandemic restrictions are over, many of us are returning to offices that we haven’t set foot in for two years. Our work environments should be motivating and invigorating, so if you’re an office manager it’s worth thinking about ways in which you can improve your workplace to encourage and welcome back people who have got used to working from home. Here are nine beautiful offices from around the world to get you inspired. (Find image sources below)

Ogilvy & Mather - Jakarta, India

Global advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather originally had office spaces scattered around Jakarta but consolidated them into a single exciting and creative workplace. Architects M Moser and Associates developed the design of the office by investigating the needs of O&M employees and observing how they worked. The result was a calm, minimal feel in reception, boardroom and work areas, and a large, open and fun space for meeting, talking and dining - complete with a slide!

TBWA Hakahudo - Tokyo, Japan

The design of the TBWA Hakahudo ad agency’s offices is intended to communicate to both employees and clients: ‘We think differently’. Klein Dytham Architecture used this message to create a stylish and relaxing office space that features warm hardwood floors, open spaces designed to encourage sharing and community and a bowling alley to aid relaxation and fun.

Selgas Cano Architecture - Madrid, Spain

Selgas Cano Architecture designed their own office to be completely immersed in the natural environment. Set in woodland near the city of Madrid, the structure features a 20mm thick, curved window that allows staff to enjoy calming views of nature as they work.

Bark - Columbus, Ohio

Pet supply company Bark had one mission for their workplace: to be the most dog-friendly office in the world. The resulting space was designed by architecture firm NBBJ and features seats made of wipeable fabric, so dogs can sit next to their owners as they work, and there is an outdoor run so the pooches have space to exercise.

Skype - Stockholm, Sweden

PS Arkitektur designed Skype’s Stockholm office taking inspiration from the company’s logo, and it shows in the vibrant colours and bubble-shaped furniture that they chose. Going to work should inspire you, which this office achieves by creating an upbeat and playful atmosphere that encourages creative ideas to develop.

Gymshark Headquarters - Solihull, UK

Gym wear brand Gymshark has grown incredibly rapidly, and the company needed an office space that could accommodate this, as well as attract and retain new talent. The design has an industrial feel and features a large, light atrium with bleachers, canteen, cinema, VR enclosure and yoga and Jiu Jitsu mat zones. Mindful of the impact of the pandemic and our increasing reliance on remote digital technology, Gymshark HQ also features ‘Zoom Rooms’ with integrated ceiling mics to ensure video conferencing can be done with ease.

Zoopla - London, UK

Zoopla wanted a work space that was a distinct departure from the usual office environment and strived to create an office that is a genuine home away from home for their staff. The refurbishment resulted in a design that mimicked a house, with themed areas including a library, a dining room, a living room, a wine cellar, a treehouse and even a swimming pool. Staff also have their own barista, a gym with fresh towel service and a games room.

Digital Luxury Group - Geneva, Switzerland

DLG is a digital marketing company that produces luxury industry market research, so the company needed an office space that exudes elegance. Interiors firm Bloomint Design created a workplace that was intended not to feel like an office at all, with a series of spaces that promote relaxation as well as quiet areas for focus. Clean, minimal lines and stylish modern furniture adds to the overall feeling of luxe elegance.

Airbnb - San Francisco, California

The four storeys of Airbnb’s headquarters have been cleverly themed around different cities of the world - Buenos Aires, Kyoto, Amsterdam and Japiur - and used patterns, colours and themes from each of these cities into the interior design. As well as having themed floors, each of the meeting rooms in the office are themed by actual Airbnb listings from around the world, which includes an English castle and an 1880s jail in Montana.

Well-designed offices create an environment that increases staff productivity and well-being. If y
